Design
The angel of the birth date is woven at the centre of the throw in the colours of the devotional manuscripts our illustrations draw on: soft alabaster, dusty blue and gold on a warm cream ground. Beneath it runs a banner carrying the angel’s name, and along the foot, the name and date of birth of the person it was made for.
Every element is rendered thread by thread rather than printed — an heirloom-weight piece that reads as clearly from across a room as it does wrapped around your shoulders.

The angel is drawn from a traditional calendar that divides the year into seventy-two windows of about five days, each carrying the name of an angel. We worked from several independent published versions of that calendar and used only what they agree on.
Where sources contradict each other, we leave the detail out rather than choose between them. The calendar is fixed and public, so the same birth date always gives the same angel — you can check it, and it will match.
